This adventure sunrise elopement in Kananaskis Country just west of Calgary, Alberta was a dreamy day of crisp air, filtered sunlight, and exploring the beautiful land with Erin and Kyle. The pair said their vows and became husband and wife right on the shore of Upper Kananaskis Lake. The mountain range in the backdrop, the tall trees, the reflections on the lake.. it was the most romantic setting for an intimate wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, we took the rest of the morning to adventure about. We took advantage of the gorgeous and diverse scenery. The bride and groom portraits are sort of divided into three different settings. First, we explored the rocky mountainside that had these trees with bright yellow changing leaves that added the most perfect pop of color to the wedding photos. Then we walked along the pebble-covered shoreline as the lake literally sparkled in the background. After that, we ventured over to where the land was covered in the prettiest dried grass. We even found an old bridge over the lake, which is where we took the last of the bride and groom portraits.
This was the perfect day for a dreamy outdoor elopement, and the perfect location for one as well. For more adventure elopement inspiration, check out this Banff Park picnic elopement I shot last year.
